Ever wonder why Easter is so special? It's a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Just before Easter, Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter doesn't fall on a fixed date. Instead, its date is determined by a lunisolar calendar. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs on or after March 21. 2025: April 20. 2026: April 5. 2027: March 28. Typically, churches hold a special service for Easter Sunday.
